Litter Box Odor Can Be The Hardest Part Of Living With A Cat But Here's An Easy Trick To Eliminate Litter Box Smell
If you have a cat, you know how much you love them and would do anything for them. This includes taking care of their dirty litter box which is just part of having a kitty in your life, but it's sometimes pretty smelly, to say the least. There are so many different types of cat litter out there now too. Clumping, non-clumping, scented and non-scented. There's also clay litter and wood pellet litter too, so it can even get a little confusing when you're trying to pick the best litter for your cat's box. You can experiment and find out what your cat likes the most, and what works for you the best in regards to keeping a clean litter box. Just don't change the type of litter too often because even small changes can cause stress to our feline friends. When it comes to cleaning your cat's litter box, there are a few cleaning tips that you can try out so that you have an easier time of it, and so that your cat is happy. It's great to scoop your cat's litter box once a day if you can. When your cat's litter box gets too full, they may become stressed and start to go to the bathroom in other places. Just think of trying to go to the bathroom in a plugged up toilet, not very comfortable, right?
If you don't scoop your cat's litter box every day, at least change their litter every week. Usually, even if you're scooping every day, it's nice to change out the litter every week or two, so they have completely fresh litter to go in. Cleaning the litter box is pretty easy, and it's usually best to just dump the old litter into a fresh garbage bag by placing the entire bag around one edge of the litter box and then dumping it out slowly while holding onto the bag and the sides of the litter box. If you have someone to help you, one person can hold the litter box while the other holds the bag. Once you've dumped out the litter into the garbage bag, tie it up and take it outside to your garbage can. Next, you'll want to wash out the litter box before you put more litter back into it. So you can place it into your bathtub and wash it with some natural soap and hot water, making sure to rinse it off really well after. Then dry it really well before the next steps.
These cleaning tips from the Arm and Hammer Baking Soda YouTube channel offer great advice on how to keep the litter really fresh through the week. Just take some natural baking soda and cover the entire bottom of the litter box with it to form a nice layer of baking soda under the litter. Then, pour in the litter and add some more natural baking soda on the top of the litter. Using baking soda under and on top of the litter will help to keep it fresh since the baking soda will absorb a lot of the odour from your cat's waste. Baking soda can also help kill some of the germs from the waste as well. This way both your cat and you can enjoy a cleaner litter box with no scent. There are scented baking sodas made specifically for using in a cat's litter box, but using just the plain litter will be just as great. Enjoy these cleaning tips and plenty of others from Arm and Hammer Baking Soda's YouTube channel and clean with all natural cleaners from now on.***
